Sony World Zone CRF-320 32-Band Receiver – Tested FM / MW / SW – Working Vintage Shortwave Radio (1970s)
This listing is for the legendary Sony CRF-320, a premium multi-band world receiver built in the 1970s and widely regarded as one of Sony’s finest analog shortwave sets.
Condition & Testing:
• FM band – Receives local stations clearly with strong, clean audio.
• MW (AM band) – Tunes local AM stations up to around 650 kHz. Beyond that point, the tuning knob spins freely (likely dial-cord slippage, a common vintage issue).
• SW (Shortwave band) – Receives shortwave signals with noticeable static and fading, but brief moments of clear, followable audio were heard during testing.
• LW (Longwave) – Not tested (few or no local stations in my area).
Recently cleaned and gently tested; no restoration or internal service has been performed.
The battery compartment is clean, and the existing battery still holds a charge. Cosmetically in good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age. Original Sony serial number label remains intact.
Features:
• 32 tuning bands covering FM, MW, LW, and SW ranges
• Solid-state analog tuning system
• Built-in speaker with rich tone and clarity
• Connections for external antenna and audio output
This CRF-320 is a fully functional example of one of Sony’s rarest and most collectible shortwave receivers — ideal for collectors, hobbyists, or vintage audio enthusiasts.
Will be securely packaged and shipped with care.
