The Akami Mercurial Special is a high‑end surfcasting rod built for power, sensitivity, and long casting distance. Its blank is made from Toray 40TON carbon, wrapped in a 40X spiral design for stiffness and strength. The tip is a solid hybrid carbon type, treated with reflective paint for visibility, giving a fast action (in Japanese rating “33号”).
It comes equipped with Fuji Low Rider guides and a Fuji DPS reel seat. The rod includes Akami’s new section‐alignment system developed in Japan. A Premium Akami rod sleeve (funda) is included.
