GRADING SCALE
NOTE: All
records are inspected and visually graded using Goldmine standards. We visually
grade playing surfaces and covers only. We do not grade labels, inner
sleeves, OBI strips or anything else. They are as photographed.
NEAR MINT (NM OR M-)
NM records are shiny, with no visible defects to the playing surface. A
disc that has been well cared for. NM covers are free of creases, ring wear and
seam splits of any kind.
EXCELLENT (EX)
EX records may have one or two minor superficial marks or scuffs on the
playing surface, likely inaudible. EX covers will have only the slightest signs
of use.
VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+)
VG+ records may show some visible signs of wear, including light scuffs
or light scratches. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are possible. VG+
covers have minor wear, including possible seam wear.
VERY GOOD (VG)
VG records have more obvious flaws. They lack most of the original
gloss found on NM records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are scratches
deep enough to feel with a fingernail. VG covers will have signs of handling.
Ring wear is usually obvious, though not overwhelming. More creases might be
present. Seam splitting may be present.
NOTE: Please do not purchase a record graded VG or below from us unless
you understand what you are buying. There seems to be a lot of confusion about this grade. VG does
not mean mint. VG RECORDS CONTAIN OBVIOUS WEAR.
Good (G), Good Plus (G+) & Very Good
Minus (VG–)
Vinyl will have significant scratching and groove wear. Covers will have wear
and damage evident.
POOR (P)
and Fair
(F)
Records are heavily damaged, cracked, or warped (WE DO NOT SELL VINYL IN THIS
GRADE). Covers are heavily damaged and may include significant tearing of the
surface or seams.
