POST WAR BLUE FLORAL SILK PRINT vintage 1940s 50s Draped Sheath DAY DRESS - S

Beautiful late 1940s / early 1950s vintage day dress made of a soft lightweight silk or silk/rayon blend (there are no labels) in a painterly floral design - shades of blue against an ivory coloured background.     The cap sleeved dress has a softly draped bodice with an oval neckline, a tailored waist  accented with a bow and a slim cut skirt with a knee length hem.     The dress has a lightweight lining  and closes at the back with a metal zipper. 

 MEASUREMENTS:   No  labels ... the bust measures 38 inches (therefore fits a size 32 - 34 bust best), the waist  measures 27 inches  and the  hips are 38 inches. There is no stretch to the fabric ... as always, remember to leave room for you when using these measurements to determine fit.  The dress is 38 inches in length.

CONDITION:   Very slight wear ... overall,  very good to excellent condition.

All of my items are vintage and therefore will have some minimal signs of wear consistent with their age (example - a loose thread).  I describe my items as honestly and accurately as possible with both text and pictures - clearly noting any known larger imperfections (holes, stains, missing buttons, etc).  If I have missed something, I apologize - please let me know and I will do my best to fix the issue.  But please remember I am a human being.  My preloved items have been freshly laundered unless otherwise noted in the description.
