CONDITION:  This elegant French Opalescent Hobnail boxtle was made to hold both face powder and your favorite perfume.  This vanity set was introduced in 1953 and was only made for one year.  This boxtle is very scarce and not many of the pre-Fenton Hobnail Boxtel Bottomlogo boxes are found (Fenton did not mark their glass until 1970). This box however, not only does not have am embossed logo, it still has most of a Fenton paper label that was in use in the 1950s.  This elusive piece is in UNDAMAGED CONDITION (like n ew)without chips or cracks. It is free of disfiguring mold or production imperfections.The bottle and the box have beautiful opalescence.  The daubers for these older boxtles are crystal. This wonderful vanity item is one that you will be very happy to add to your collection of vintage Fenton Art Glass.


 French Opalescent Hobnail (1940 - Mid 1960s) Fenton's French Opalescent is crystal glass with opalescence. This beautiful color was, and still is, very popular with collectors. Because of the popularity of the color and length of time it was made, the line is quite extensive and collectors can Fenton French Opalescent Hobnail Boxtel Topadd many beautiful pieces to their collections. Hobnail in French Opalescent entered the Fenton line in 1940. This crystal glass with opalescent hobs proved to be popular through the 1940s and early 1950s. Most Hobnail items in this color were discontinued by the mid-1950s. However a few of the more popular items were made through the 1950s. Tumblers were made into the 1960s, but they are the only items made after 1960. In 1965 French Opalescent Hobnail was discontinued from the Fenton general line. © Margaret and Kenn Whitmyer
