Dekoratives und aufwendig gearbeitetes neogotisches Schmuckkästchen im burgundischen Stil der Gotik.
Eiche mit reich graviertem Leder bezogen und ringsum mit Messingapplikationen verziert.

Repräsentatives zierliches Schmuckkästchen der Neogotik und im burgundischen Stil gefertigt.
Der rechteckige Korpus besteht aus Eichenholz, welcher mit reich graviertem Leder überzogen ist. Die Ornamentik ist ganz im Stile der Gotik gehalten. Deckel und Seiten sind mit aufwendiger Messingapplikation versehen und an zwei Scharnieren befestigt, der Boden des Kästchens mit einer Messingplatte mit Rautenmuster, die Applikationen stellen Akanthusblattwerk dar. Front mit gotischem Schlossbeschlag, ohne Schlüssel.
Auf dem Deckel vertikal verlaufende Ornamentstäbe, kleiner Griff und sechs runde Medaillons mit Buchstaben „d e A“.
Innen ist das Kästchen mit roter Seide ausgeschlagen, darin ein alter Zettel mit dem Vermerk der Besitzherkunft aus der Familie von Arnim und der Verweis auf die Initialen des Deckels.
Außergewöhnlich prächtige Arbeit eines Schmuckkästchens aus der Zeit der Romantik im burgundischen Stil der Gotik.

Oak covered with richly engraved leather and decorated all around with brass appliqués.
France, around 1800.
A representative, delicate jewellery box in the neo-Gothic and Burgundian style.
The rectangular body is made of oak, which is covered with richly engraved leather. The ornamentation is entirely in the Gothic style. The lid and sides are decorated with elaborate brass appliqués and attached with two hinges, while the bottom of the box features a brass plate with a diamond pattern. The appliqués depict acanthus foliage. The front has a Gothic lock fitting, without a key.
The lid features vertical ornamental bars, a small handle and six round medallions with the letters ‘d e A’.
The interior of the box is lined with red silk and contains an old note indicating that it belonged to the von Arnim family and referring to the initials on the lid.
An exceptionally magnificent piece of jewellery box craftsmanship from the Romantic period in the Burgundian Gothic style.
