RISER KIT FOR A VINTAGE DELTA 14” BAND SAW WITH A 15/16” ROUND GUIDE POST AND REMOVABLE WHEEL COVERS.

Add 6” to the cutting height capability of your vintage Delta 14” band saw.  The riser kit works with either the wood or the wood/metal versions of the popular Delta saw.

IMPORTANT 

This kit fits Delta band saws that have removable wheel covers and a 15/16” round guide post.  (Removable wheel covers are those that are each held on with two threaded knobs.)

 If your saw has removable wheel covers and a 7/8” hex guide post, this   is the wrong kit.

This listing is for the ROUND BAR kit, for saws with removable wheel covers. 

The kit includes the follow components:

►  A heavy 4” x 2½” rectangular steel tube and (2) ½” thick plates make up the riser block weldment.  It was then precision machined on CNC equipment for parallelism and to add the necessary dowel holes and pins for perfect alignment.

       ►  Two (2) ¼” x ¾” dowel pins

►  A ¾-10 x 8” bolt, lock washer, and nut for securing the top and bottom saw castings through the riser block.  The  bolt has been modified by adding a laser cut plate to prevent rotation during tightening.

►  A 15/16” round x 16” long 6061 aluminum guide post

►  A clear poplar wood custom fabricated blade guard for enclosing the return portion for the saw blade.

►  A mounting kit, with brackets and screws, to secure the wood return blade guard.  A BONUS ratcheting screw driver and insert bit is included to help install the screws, where a clearance for a regular screw driver is tight.

►  An extended length sheet metal finger guard for protecting the operator from the exposed blade when not using the high limits of available cutting blade length.

►  A regular length short finger guard, comparable to the 7” OEM blade guard.  This guard protects the operator from the top portion of the exposed blade when cutting tall stock.

    ►  Printed installation instructions 

 

The riser block has been sandblasted and primed with a zinc rich catalyzed PPG paint.

Dowel pins are provided for insertion into the riser where needed.

 The large holes cut through top and bottom plates of the riser block provide ample room for a power cord to complete internal wiring of a retirement light on the saw.  To use this route, you must drill a cord passage hole in the lower band saw casting in the pad where the riser block sets.

The bolt, lock washer, nut, and both sheet metal finger guards have been bright zinc plated.
