Barbara Brown is synonymous with Mid Century Modern design and she produced striking fabrics with bold geometric shapes and vibrant colours during the Mid Century. She designed the “Galleria” pattern for Heals in 1968 and this fabulous Op Art design just screams the influences of the era, with its big, bold swirling pattern and deep, vivid colours.
This pair of textile wall hangings have been made with rare and original vintage 1960s fabric stretched over a new canvas and wooden frame. The Galleria pattern was produced in different colour ways, and this piece features the striking pattern in a stunning colour palette of browns and blues. These two wall hangings have been made to work together as a pair, but also work well as individual pieces. The price is for the pair of wall hangings.
The fabric is a beautiful upholstery weight screen printed cotton satin fabric. The fabric is in new, unused condition, but it is vintage and being over 50 years old, has the odd imperfection. There are a couple of snags in the fabric, visible up close which I have photographed and don’t detract from the beauty of the pictures. The pictures are hand made, and each one measures 51cm x 76cm.
The pictures will be very carefully packaged and sent out with FREE DELIVERY using an insured and tracked service.
