How to install oil filter cap?
1. Clean the inside of the oil filter cap assembly, its thread and O-ring groove.
2. Apply a small amount of engine oil to a new O-ring and intall it to the oil filter cap assebmly.
3. Set a new oil filter element in the oil filter cap assembly.
4. Remove any dirt or foreign matter from the installation surface of the engine.
5. Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-ring again, Align the cutout in the oil filter cap assembly thread 90° to the grooves in the oil filter bracket and temporarily tighten the oil filter cap assembly.
When the oil filter cap should be replaced?
If the oil filter housing housing cap is impacted or cracked, or if the mounting surface is warped, engine oil will lead and the oil filter cover should be replaced.
Notice
- Be sure to install the O-ring to the proper position, otherwise engine oil may leak.
- Do not twist the O-ring.
- Make sure that the O-ring does not get caught between the parts.
- After tightening oil filter cap assembly make sure there is not gap and O ring is not protruding.
- Do not remove the oil filter bracket clip when installing the oil filter cap assembly.
- Do not cross thread the oil filter cap assembly.
