PUNK Magazine Complete Run 1-17 (1975-1981) with 3 Later Issues, Calendar, and Issue #8 of STOP! Magazine

edited by John Holmstrom and Legs McNeil

Complete original run of the illustrated punk fanzine, plus numerous uncommon extras

New York: Punk Publications, 1975-2007. Complete in 15 issues total, numbered 1-17 (issues 9 and 13 were never printed), plus the D.O.A. Filmbook and a double-sided flyer for the film's release, 1979 wall calendar, issues #0, #20, and #21 of the relaunched Punk magazine, and issue #8 of founder John Holmstrom's STOP! magazine.

- First 15 issues of Punk, 1975-1979. Variously bound, folio folded tabloid and quarto, in pictorial wrappers. Near Fine overall, with some edge staining to #1, short tears to #2 spine, and address labels to most issues. The full run of the illustrated fanzine that irreverently defined punk's early days.

- 1979 calendar, 13 tall sheets (including cover) printed in black and white and bound with 3 staples at upper edge. Very Good with light wear and soiling. Scarce.

- D.O.A. Filmbook is Near Fine, hint of shelf wear; flyer is 8.5 x 11", unfolded. Fine.

- STOP! issue 8, "Scandal." 48 pp., illustrated in black and white. Staple bound in color printed wrappers. Fine condition. Co-edited by former Punk magazine publisher John Holmstrom and J.D. King, STOP! ran for nine issues between 1982 and 1984. This penultimate issue is themed "Scandal" and features a parody of vintage porn magazines. Writers and artists include Holstrom, Joey Ramone (of the Ramones), and Lou Brooks.

- Issues 0 (25th Anniversary Issue, Winter 2001), 20 (Summer 2007), and 21 (Fall 2007). Staple bound in color pictorial wrappers. Near Fine with light wear to covers, price sticker to front cover of #0. The 2001 relaunch of the magazine started well, with the inaugural issue selling around 8,000 copies, but the September 11 terrorist attacks put an end to John Holstrom's plans. The next issue (numbered 19) was published winter 2007. Issues 20 and 21 followed that same year, but issue 22 was not produced until 2023. Issue 24 came out the following year, and the public is still awaiting the next installment.
