This wonderful vintage three-piece cup, saucer and side plate trio is by the renowned Clarice Cliff by Newport Pottery, signed and stamped on the bottom, it is a vintage piece originating from Staffordshire, United Kingdom.

The design is reg no. 840076 registered in 1943 and I believe the pattern to be Devonshire featuring pastel roses and other English garden flowers on a cream glaze, with gold gilding on the edges.

This pretty quintessential English Country style trio from the 1940s/50s has been pre-loved and well used and therefore does show signs of wear, described below and shown within the photos.

The background is a rich yellow-cream colour, not easily captured in the photos. There are some brown blemishes and there is wear to the gold gilding and some gilding is missing. There is a small chip and hairline crack to the edge of the saucer. There is no noticeable crazing and the flowers are still looking bright.

This wonderful original Clarice Cliff trio from the 1940s/50s is a lovely addition to any display and a rare collectable, which is sure to add a touch of vintage charm to any home.
