No one ever said getting into or out of a race car when fully suited up with a HANS, helmet, and other safety gear is easy. A popular option for decades in helping with said ingress/egress procedures has been a removable steering wheel by way of a quick release hub mechanism. Once seated and harnesses buckled it is simply a matter of grabbing your steering wheel off your Shop Steering Wheel/Helmet Hooks nearby and slipping it onto the steering shaft to lock it into place. The one issue many had with a quick release steering wheel was misplacing the quick release pin that retains the quick release hub. Without the pin to reinstall the wheel it is not secured to the steering shaft. The answer to this issue is a quick release hub with a self-contained push button release.
Our 5-bolt steering wheel quick release hubs are made from CNC machined billet aluminum and then black anodized for a tough, long lasting finish. The self-contained spring loaded quick release mechanism makes for fast removal or installation of your race car’s steering wheel and can be positioned for left or right side release.
