Rare Gorgeous Vintage Chinese Porcelain Peacock and Floral Vase 15" Tall

The vase's inscription translates to  "heavenly beauty and national grace" or "a woman of peerless beauty". It is an idiom often used to describe a woman of extraordinary beauty, suggesting a beauty that is both natural and captivating, fit to be admired by the entire nation.

• Significance:

  This particular seal, "Ci Lan Tang" (Studio of the Bestowed Orchid), was commissioned by Pan Zuyin, the Minister of Works, who named his building "House of the Awarded Orchid Brush" after receiving an orchid brush from Empress Dowager Cixi.

  Zhao Zhiqian was a prominent figure of the late Qing dynasty, known for his expertise in painting, calligraphy, and seal carving.
