The Beatles – Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967, Mono, First Press, Capitol L.A. Pressing w/ Misprint) w/ Insert
🎶 Original Mono Pressing with Cut-Out Insert – Psychedelic Landmark in Authentic Mix
Format: Vinyl LP
Label: Capitol – MAS-2653
Country: USA
Year: 1967
Pressing Plant: Los Angeles (✻ symbol in runout)
Offered here is a genuine first U.S. mono pressing of The Beatles’ groundbreaking Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, manufactured at Capitol’s Los Angeles pressing plant (identified by the ✻ in the deadwax). This early issue features the original misprint on Side A, where the track “With a Little Help from My Friends” is incorrectly listed as “A Little Help from My Friends” on the label — a detail sought by collectors and pressed only in the initial L.A. production run.
Widely regarded by audiophiles and Beatles purists as the definitive mix, the mono version of Sgt. Pepper features subtle differences in panning, effects, and vocal treatments not found in the more commonly heard stereo mix — and it’s the version The Beatles and George Martin actually worked on.
This copy includes the original “cut-out” insert sheet, featuring Sgt. Pepper drum badges, stripes, and moustaches.
Key Features:
Original 1967 US mono pressing from Capitol's Los Angeles pressing plant (✻ symbol in runout/see image)
"A Little Help from My Friends" label misprint

Track Highlights:
🎺 “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”

Condition:
VG. Play-graded: Underlying crackle burdens around 3/4 of the record, and while the listener can ignore most of it, it does get tedious in a few places.
This is the pressing for those who want to hear Sgt. Pepper as it was originally intended — in glorious mono, with all original inserts present. A foundational piece for any serious Beatles collector.
