It depicts a peaceful riverside village scene with women washing clothes by a watermill, surrounded by lush trees, children playing, and soft reflections on the water. The subtle sky and early 20th-century color palette in soft blues, golds, brick reds, and creams make it especially beautiful! This tapestry was produced in the mid 20th century ~
It’s woven in cotton with a gorgeous leaf and rope-style border and backed in a warm rust cotton lining with a rod pocket at the top for hanging. A lovely and classic size for above a mantel, headboard, or large sofa!
