We understand that many of our users are interested in performing more advanced reset functions by themself. In response to this, we have included several useful features in the CReader VII+ V2.0 OBDII diagnostic scanner as a f-ree update to meet your daily needs.
Need to turn off the oil light, reset the mileage, or driving time? The Oil Reset function is here to assist you.
- If the service light is illuminated, you'll need to reset the mileage or driving time to turn off the light and enable a new service cycle.
- After changing the engine oil or any components related to oil life monitoring, you'll need to reset the service light.
Require a reset of the steering angle position sensor? Give the Steering Angle Calibration a try.
- To reset the steering angle, first find the reference position where the car can drive in a straight line. This position will serve as a zero-point for calculating accurate left and right steering angles.
- After replacing the steering angle position sensor, make sure to also replace any steering mechanical parts such as the steering gearbox, steering column, end tie rod, and steering knuckle.
If the throttle assembly has been replaced and needs a reset, let's explore the Electronic Throttle Position Reset/Learn function.
- Replacement of Throttle Assembly :When the throttle assembly is replaced with a new one, it is essential to perform a throttle reset. This is because the ECU needs to learn the new throttle's operating parameters and ensure optimal performance.
- ECU Replacement: If the ECU itself is replaced, it may not store the previous throttle working features. In such cases, a throttle reset is required to establish a new connection and allow the ECU to learn the throttle's characteristics.
- ECU Power Disconnection: When the ECU is disconnected from power, such as during maintenance or repairs, its memory is lost. As a result, a throttle reset becomes necessary to re-calibrate the throttle and restore proper functioning
- Replacement or Removal of Intake Pipe: If the intake pipe, which connects the air filter to the throttle body, is replaced or removed, it can impact the idle speed control mechanism regulated by the ECU. Performing a throttle reset helps the ECU adapt to the new airflow conditions and ensure accurate control of the throttle.
- Throttle Cleaning: Occasionally, the throttle body may require cleaning due to carbon buildup or debris. Although the idle throttle potentiometer features remain unchanged, the cleaning process can alter the airflow and affect idle speed control. Thus, a throttle reset is necessary to re-calibrate the throttle based on the new airflow characteristics.

How to Register & Update LAUNCH Creader VII+ V2.0 Scan Tool ? TIPS: NOT NECESSARY TO UPDATE BEFORE USE.
- Step 1: Go to LAUNCH official website （refer to the "User Guide (PDF)" in the "Product guides and documents "section of product webpage）Find “Service ”>>"Dowload">>"DIY integration upgrade tool"
- Step 2: Download and install the update tool when installed.
- Step 3: You will be prompted to type in the serial # (located on the back of the tool)
- Step 4: Hit [Device Upgrade] to enter the register page, type your email info, check the "Register Code" on the device menu "Help--Tool Information"
- Note: the “User password” is equal to the “Register Code.”
- Step 5: Install the TF card from the tool into the supplied USB TF card adapter and insert into USB port of CPU.
- Step 6: Reopen the CRP update Suite and select the updates you would like to preform or click select all and click Download.
- Step 7: Once all steps are complete, reinsert the TF card into the tool and power the tool via USB in computer or via OBD2 port in vehicle. The tool will prompt you to upgrade, select OK button on tool to proceed.
- Step 8: The registration process is now complete!
About Update:
Creader VII+ V2.0 car diagnostitc tool for car can be used out of box and you don't need to update it before the use. If it's slow to enter the menu, please update your scanner first. You can refer to the update video on the product page.(mac or ios system not supported for update)
About Compatibility:
- Please kindly note, if you encounter incompatibility or defective issues, kindly provide the model, year, V-IN of your vehicle info , the issue is likely to be fixed via software or hardware upgrade.
- To clear the fault code successfully, please repair your car and fix the problem first.
- To clear the airbag fault code successfully, please make sure that you already changed the airbag.Warm TIPS: Airbag crash/collision data can NOT be cleared even you replace the new airbag.
