You're looking at a SUPERB condition book and is the memoir of baseball zany JAY JOHNSTONE--the book is a FIRST EDITION and FIRST PRINTING Bantam Books mass market paperback published in July 1986. This book is in SUPERB condition and has a few slight creases on the spine edge, a tiny ding on the lower left edge of the back cover, a slight thumb crease on the upper center edge of the front cover, a small abrasion on the center right edge of the inner surface of the back cover, light browning on the inner surfaces of the covers and just slight shelfwear and slight evidence of gentle browsing but NO other significant imperfections!  The book is titled Temporary Insanity: The Uncensored Adventures of Baseball's Craziest Player and it was written by JAY JOHNSTONE with RICK TALLEY; it was published by Bantam Books in July 1986 and is a 5th Printing copy with a publication line reading 0 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1.

Jay Johnstone had two reputations: one as a great player, the other as a crazed, cream pie-throwing jokester.  In his latter career, he often burst from the dugout wearing monster masks, oversized sunglasses, or a Star Patrol helmet. 

He exchanged uniforms with a groundskeeper and swept Dodger Stadium's infield between innings, cut the middle out of Rick Sutcliffe's shorts, dumped a twenty-gallon vat of gooey chocolate over a young bikini-clad fan's head, hid a soggy brownie in Steve Garvey's glove, smashed an oversized banana cream pie in a sexy Dodger Stadium secretary's face while she standing on the pitcher's mound being honored for Employee Appreciation Night in front of a capacity gameday crowd, and trapped Tommy LaSorda in his motel room by tying the doorknob to a palm tree.
