Woestina Reformed Church Rotterdam Junction New York NY Bicentennial Plate 1984

We are pleased to offer this rare souvenir plate featuring the Woestina Reformed Church in Rotterdam Junction, New York. It was manufactured as a souvenir collector's plate to commemorate this church's bicentennial anniversary (1784-1984).  It was manufactured by Kettlesprings Kiln of Alliance, Ohio (#3466-S). Its front features a blue on white transfer ware design of two churches with the Mohawk River between. The top church was dismantled and moved across the river in 1812. It was later destroyed by fire in 1935 and later rebuilt. The caption "the Light in the Wilderness" appears at the bottom of the plate. On the left side of the plate a Bible is pictured opened to Isaiah 40:3. It has historical information about the church on the back.

It measures 10" in diameter.  It is in excellent condition with no nicks, chips or cracks. Just a lovely souvenir plate of historical and religious significance - especially for anyone with ties to Rotterdam Junction, New York and to the Woestina Reformed Church in particular.
