A series that aimed for a writing touch that was better suited to the Japanese, among whom the tendency to press down heavily on the paper had generally become the norm due to the widespread use of ballpoint pens. Prepared for soft writing based on a heavy-handed writing style, the CUSTOM74 Series achieved a smooth writing touch. There were eight types of nib at the time of its launch, to which three more were added six years later in 1998, plus three more for the current 11 types
The Pilot Custom 74 Nib 14K gold is a great writing tool. The fine nib produces a clean and crisp line, perfect for everyday writing tasks, note-taking, and even drawing. The 14K gold nib provides a smooth writing experience, with just the right amount of feedback to ensure precision and control.
The pen's design is sleek and professional-looking, with a translucent barrel that allows you to see the ink level. The pen is also well-balanced, making it comfortable to use for extended periods. Provides a smooth and consistent writing experience, with some flexibility in the gold nibs allowing for line variation. This nib is a much smaller nib size compared to Pilot #10 or Pilot #15, however, Pilot #5 still became their most famous fountain pen nib due to its affordability and great value for money.

We have found this absolute beauty of a pen at a second-hand market and what caught our attention was how good of a condition this pen is in despite it being made in around 96.
The body is made out of acrylics which are often looked at as a cheap material for pens, and to a certain extent is true, but my goodness does this make the Custom 74 body look a thousand times better than the standard colors?
The nib has 1116 engraved on it, indicating it was made in November 2016. We assume this is because the original owner have damaged its original nib and have switched it with a more modern one.

CONDITION
The pen is in excellent condition! Despite being made in the 1990s, the previous owner have taken very good care of pen. The body itself looking from afar looks really great but it has developed a tint of unclearness, signifying that the coating on the pen may have been damaged (See the picture below). Aside from that, the pen still looks very beautiful with no other flaws found while testing it.
This pen was obtained from a second-hand market.
The pen comes with its original box and papers, a second-hand Con-70 fitted from the previous owner cleaned to the best we can.
We will also include a new CON-70 Converter and 1 Blue Black Pilot Ink Cartridge
