Description: This is a 1960s giveaway item from Tip Top Car Washes in North Arlington, Belleville, and Perth Amboy, New Jersey. It's a pack of cleansing tissues. The pack is constructed so that it wraps around a car's sun visor. The back side has a blank section which is called "A Handy Place for Travel Notes." The tissues are dispensed from the other side. There is a perforated oval shaped "coupon" for 25 cents off of Hot Carnuba Wax. Take the coupon off, and this is where the cleansing tissues are located. The packaging reads 50 single, 25 two ply 6x9 sheets. The coupon is still, for the most part, attached. The left side perforations have been punched free, so you can peek inside at the tissues. The instructions for slipping it over the sun visor also suggest that it's a great place for storing maps, toll tickets, etc. The US and Canadian patents are from 1962.
Condition: The tissues are unused, as the perforated oval- shaped opening is still intact, although it has been perforated along the left side. There are no stains and the red, white and blue graphics are nice and vivid. There is some wrinkling/light creasing along the edges of the paper, which is about the same weight as standard letter envelopes. A cool item for your classic car!
Size: 7 inches by 8-1/8 inches. The opening for sliding onto a sun visor (I am guessing here, since all visors are different thicknesses) is definitely smaller than the 8-1/8 inch length of the paper. It will probably fit over a visor that is no deeper than 6 inches. Feel free to send measurements and we will see if your visor is a good fit.
Buyer pays postage. We gladly ship WORLDWIDE and will combine postage for multiple purchases whenever possible.
Many thanks for looking, and have a nice day!
