Near Fine with fading and droplet staining to spines, faint rubbing to boards, and slight offsetting to contents from plates. Light soiling at rear endpaper of Volume II; aluminum case is bright with light rubbing and wear. A handsome set and a crowning achievement of Machine Age book design, whose publication helped to propel Moby Dick out from semi-obscurity into its current fame as perhaps the quintessential American novel.
