There are moments in daily life so small that you forget them almost immediately, and yet, looking back, they turn out to be the ones you treasure. This catalog gathers works built around exactly that feeling, drawn from the collection of the Hokkaido Obihiro Museum of Art.
Inside you will find posters, paintings, prints and photographs by European artists, Japanese contemporary artists, and painters connected to the Tokachi region of Hokkaido. The book is organized into four chapters that move from the almost-decisive moment, to small beautiful things, to quiet landscapes, and finally to time beginning to move again. Artist commentaries and a full list of exhibited works are included, along with an essay by Risa Mimizuka reflecting on the museum during the pandemic years and what followed.
This 63-page volume was published as the catalog for the special exhibition of the same name held at the Hokkaido Obihiro Museum of Art from January 11 to March 16, 2025. The text is in Japanese, and the plates speak clearly on their own.
