HOOD, Emeritus Professor of Political Theory and Institutions, University of
Durham.

by Oxford, at the Clarendon Press; ©1964; printed in Great Britain; 263 pages;
the book measures approximately 5 ¾ x 8 ½.
The
Divine Politics of Thomas Hobbes is an interpretation of Hobbes's political
philosophy, particularly his ideas about the social contract and sovereignty.
Hobbes believed that the social contract gave absolute power to a ruler to
govern the people. He also believed that political authority was artificial,
created by humans to govern the "natural" condition of humans without
government.
