Ida B. Wells Journalist, Activist,  Suffragist.  Born into slavery in 1865, she started her career as a teach then into journalism.  Late 20' she became both editor and co-owner of the Memphis Free Speech newspaper.  Exposing inequality and cruelty that Black people faced. She also co-founded the National association of Colored Women's Clubs in 1896 and the NAACP in 1909 to fight for freedom, justice and equal opportunity.  50 Years she spent bravely challenging the status quo, inspiring generations of activists after her.
