BESCHREIBUNG

Originaler und prächtig kolorierter Titel des Atlas von Janssonius aus dem Jahre 1644.

Mit Titel und Verlegerkartusche.

In der oberen Blatthälfte Doppeladler mit bekröntem Wappen und 6 weiteren Wappen der Kurfürstentümer.

Neben der Titelkartusche links und rechts die Fürsbischöfe und Kurfürsten sowie der Kaiser des Heiligen Römischen Reiches.

Johann Janssonius (1588-1664), eigentlich Jan Janszoon, war ein niederländischer Kartograph, Verleger und Hersteller von Globen. 1612 heiratete er die Tochter von Jodocus Hondius und ging 1633 eine geschäftliche Partnerschaft mit seinem Schwager Henricus Hondius II. ein.

Blatt: 47,8 x 28,5 cm; Platte: 40,5 x 27 cm.

ZUSTAND

Original in sehr guter Erhaltung. Dekorativer Kupferstich, kräftiger und filigraner Druck und prachtvolles Kolorit. Blatt leicht gebräunt, aber sehr sauber. Im linken Rand mit dünner Stelle im Papier (im Gegenlicht sichtbar). Blatt stabilisiert.

Johann Janssonius (1588-1664), actually Jan Janszoon, was a Dutch cartographer, publisher and maker of globes. He married the daughter of Jodocus Hondius in 1612 and entered into a business partnership with his brother-in-law Henricus Hondius II in 1633.

In very good condition, very decorative. Strong print and nice colouring.
In the left margin with thin piece in the paper (visible against the light only). Leaf stabilized.
