BESCHREIBUNG

Äußerst seltene, schwere, zylinderförmige Soldtruhe. Deckel und Korpus mit genieteten Eisenbändern. 

Der runde abnehmbare Deckel mit intaktem Schloss und Schlossabdeckung mit drei Schließriegeln sowie einen starren Dorn zum Einhängen des Deckels. Originaler, barocker Schlüssel. Innen mit genieteten Eisenblech ausgeschlagen. Derartige zylindrische Kassen sind äußerst selten Wohl als transportable Soldtruhe, Behältnis von Stabskarten, Dokumenten und Verträgen oder auch als Kutscherkasse verwendet. 

Derartige zylindrische Kassen wurden im Gegensatz zu ihren rechteckigen Truhen, welche mit Rädern versehen und gezogen oder auch auf dem Wagen selbst platziert wurden, unter dem Kutschbock gelagert und waren somit nicht sichtbar.

ZUSTAND

Sehr gute originale Erhaltung mit nur geringen Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren. Schöne, gewachsene Alterspatina. Partiell etwas flugrostig. Schlossmechanismus intakt. Originaler Schlüssel vorhanden.

MATERIAL

Forged and riveted iron.

DESCRIPTION

Extremely rare, heavy, cylindrical soldier's chest. Lid and body with riveted iron bands. 

The round removable lid with intact lock and lock cover with three locking bolts as well as a rigid pin for hanging the lid. 

Original baroque key. Lined inside with riveted sheet iron. Cylindrical coffers of this type are extremely rare and were probably used as transportable pay chests, containers for staff cards, documents and contracts or as coachman's coffers.

In contrast to their rectangular counterparts, which were fitted with wheels and pulled or placed on the carriage itself, cylindrical coffers of this type were stored under the coach box and were therefore not visible.

CONDITION

Very good original condition with only minor signs of age and use. Beautiful, mature age patina. Partially somewhat rusty. Lock mechanism intact. Original key present.
