Axis Wings: the Luftwaffe and co-belligerent air forces compendium vol.1 (Launch edition)

*LIMITED REPRINT IN STOCK NOW!*

Due to the great success of our launch edition I have decided to order a limited number of reprints. Now in stock and ready to ship!

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Chandos Publications, in association with Robert Forsyth at Chevron Publishing, can now bring to the aviation book market the first in what we hope will be a long-running compendium relating to the Luftwaffe and co-belligerent air forces. Drawing on the talents of many well known names in the Luftwaffe research and writing community, each issue will be packed with stories, photographs and artwork. There are many fascinating pieces of information on the Axis air forces that are still unpublished, and are too short for a regular book but also too important to sit on a forgotten computer hard drive ad finitum. ‘Axis Wings’ aims to make these stories known, accompanied by specially commissioned artwork, and photographs from private collections. Each issue will be approximately 200 pages long, in softcover format. We initially plan to release two issues per annum. At this stage, the project is very much an experiment – its success depends on how well the concept is received, but as long as there is a demand we will keep going. We hope that ‘Axis Wings’ will grow organically, and become self-perpetuating, and to that end we welcome the submission of stories, photographs and comments for future editions. Unfortunately, logistical difficulties plus the irregularity of publication mean that we do not plan on offering a subscription service. However, we work closely with distribution partners Worldwide if you prefer to purchase by mail or in person in your home country.

OVERSEAS ITEMS WORTH LESS THAN €150 / £135 (FOR USA SEE BELOW)

From 1 July 2021, the Brexit transition period ended. From this date forward, EVERYTHING sold to a country outside of the UK counted as an export, and as such could be subject to VAT/tax. EU member states require an IOSS (Import One Stop Shop) number, although this is optional. eBay should provide me with an IOSS number once you have completed checkout. I will then make sure this number is visible on your parcel. This is to tell the customs officials in your country that you have already paid the relevant taxes at point of purchase. The good news is that eBay have an entire team dedicated to working out the tax rates for you - these should be visible on your pre-order summary just before you complete checkout, and will be based on 1) the applicable VAT rate for the type of goods you have bought 2) the value of the goods. If you have won an item at open auction, then the final tax amount will not be visible until bidding ends. If you are purchasing a 'buy it now' item then the applicable tax should be visible before you complete checkout.

This rule covers items worth les than €150 / £135 only, regardless of whether there is one item or multiple items in the order. For orders worth more than €150 / £135, please see below.

Some countries such as Australian (ABN numbers) and some US States have already implemented the collection of taxes at point of purchase, so customers in these countries will in most cases be familiar with the collection of tax when buying on eBay UK. If any additional codes are required for your parcels, then I am confident that eBay will provide me with them. I will then in due course make sure they are visible on any paperwork or address labels, to show you have already paid your tax.

OVERSEAS ORDERS WORTH MORE THAN €150 / £135 (FOR USA SEE BELOW)

If your order - whether an individual item or multiple items - is worth more than €150 / £135, then eBay will NOT provide me with an IOSS (Import One Stop Shop) number once you have completed checkout. Currently, such orders will be subject to tax/VAT (if required) only when they enter the destination country, at the discretion of the local tax authority and based on the tax rates for the kind of item(s) you have purchased. *Please note* that the parcel may also be subject to a release charge by the customs agency in your country. This is the system as it stands - in the future, there may become available a service whereby you can pay all charges up front, in which case I will update my listings.

USA:

As of 01 September 2025, the 'de minimis' rule for the import into the USA of items worth less than $800.00 was scrapped. Companies such as Royal Mail have now taken the extra taxes into account, so that sellers know the cost upfront. The extra taxes must be borne by the seller, not the purchaser. Currently the UK tax is 10%. Fortunately, the prices I have already been charging for shipping are not that different to the new prices, so for now I will keep the same shipping rates for the USA. However, as the US courts have rules that most of Trump's tariffs are in fact illegal, the situation could change again before the end of 2025! My advice for US customers for now is to keep buying from me, but to keep me informed of any unexpected occurrences. You should be able to see the shipping charges when you complete checkout.

Returns:

If you are unhappy with an item, I will try to resolve any issues in a timely manner.  Please refer to my 100% positive feedback record

YOU HAVE 30 DAYS from date of payment in which to return an item and claim a refund. This is the time allocated to you as a customer by law, and conversant with eBay's returns policy. You can not claim a refund after this time.

Lost / Damaged items / Returns:

In the unlikely event that your item is lost or damaged, please let me know and I will try to help.

Please note that 'buyer's remorse' is NOT a valid reason for a return
