NRMT item. Very rare, sought-after limited release (just 1000 copies), now out-of-print cd Hans Zimmer RAIN MAN Original Motion Picture Score. Zimmer's iconic 1st major film score, from the 1988 Oscar-award winning Rain Man, starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. Renown Director Barry Levinson took a chance on the then unknown Zimmer and boy did it pay off. Widely considered one of the most innovative film scores in recent history, Zimmer contributed greatly to Rain Mans's popularity and success. After Rain Man, Hans Zimmer immediately zoomed to the A-list of film composers, shortly thereafter scoring major films, including Black Rain, Driving Miss Daisy, Days of Thunder and Backdraft. This is the more rare NoteforNote Music release with better sound quality. Very difficult to find this more rare version because long ago sold out and frankly few owners of it will ever let it go from their collection.
While Rain Man had a successful, popular original motion picture soundtrack release, which included a couple of the longer Zimmer cues, it omitted several popular tracks from Han's score. Two later score versions (2010 Perserverance, limited to 2000 copies AND 2018 NoteforNote, limited to 1000 copies) were released with much different critical and fan reaction. While both versions sold out, the NoteforNote Music release is much more sought-after and understandably so. See below review:
When the original score to Rain Man finally received it's world premiere release in 2010, fans were elated that the much requested, Oscar nominated music by one of the world's premiere film composers, Hans Zimmer would finally be out on CD. Once the score was later available to license, Notefornote Music decided to reissue this fixing the one glaring issue that fans had with the earlier 2010 Perserverance release, the poor sound quality. Taken from a pristine digital source and tapes we had found at MGM, this more recent 2018 NoteforNote release is the BEST representation of Hans Zimmer's wonderful score to Rain Man. One thing we respect is a great score and this is definitely one of the great ones of the 1980s.

Get this gem while you can. The only one I have.
Original owner (from my personal collection), only I have handled this item. A Must for any serious Hans Zimmer and/or Tom Cruise. Someone will cherish this keeper for their film score collection. No Zimmer collection is complete without his 1st major released film score. Its still to this day one of his very Best.
