The tree species is birch from Hokkaido, Japan.

These are made from precious wood with very fine grain.

Birch is a durable wood that does not discolor easily over time. This side panel has a very rare ripple pattern, two-tone color, and sumi.

Regarding shipping, due to issues with US customs, the shipping company I previously used is no longer available and shipping costs have increased significantly.
