This sculpture, Condottiere - Head of a Warrior, is one of the sculptures from the original Clot Collection. The collection was modelled in wax by Salvador Dali in the 60's and 70's sitting by his pool in Port-Lligat.
The Clot collection is known as the only 3 dimensional objects that can be described as original Dali, because he modelled the wax models himself and he was closely involved with their casting.
In a signed contract between Dali and Isidro Clot a first limited Edition of 4 examples was agreed. One of these first edition examples is still in the permanent collection of 'the Dali museum' in St. Petersburg, Florida.
This is number #3 of the edition of 4. First owned by Dali collector Don Ramón Cantero and later sold to another well known Spanish collector.
The sculpture is being sold including a recent (April 2023) authentication report by the Dali Archives - New York
