1974 Press Photo Mariner 10 photograph of planet Mercury made at 2,700,000 miles

This is an original press photo. This photo, released today by Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, was sent back to earth by the Mariner 10 spacecraft showing the planet Mercury from a distance of 2,700,000 miles. Picture was made Sunday. The spacecraft will fly within 540 miles of Mercury on Friday. Photo measures 8 x 10inches. Photo is dated 03-25-1974.
