Vintage possibly antique Silverplate hinged Clam Shell butter dish with Glass dish Insert and butter knife, 5" x 5" x 2",  in family since 1960s or earlier, nice as butterdish, could be used for a keepsake/jewelry box as well, no inscription, name or stamp, cleans nicely with silver cloth so believe it's silver plate
