This is an original press photo. Children of God. A devotion to religious study, illustrated by this class in their dining hall, sets the scene at the Burlington, Washington, colony of the Children of God. The colony functions as a training camp where new members learn the life and beliefs of the sect, and form new colonies. The teacher, Joel, perched on his stool, is recording his lecture for distribution to the other colonies of the sect scattered across America and Europe, sheltering between 2,000 and 3,000 young people.Photo measures 11 x 8.25inches.
