1964 Press Photo Scene of New Hampshire Sweepstakes drawing in Salem race track
Names in the first drawing of the New Hampshire Sweepstakes are taken from huge drum by Miss New Hampshire Elizabeth Emerson as Babe Rubinstein announces names over public address system at Rockingham Race Track in Salem, New Hampshire, today. The nation's only state sponsored lottery held its first drawing with the drum containing 333,334 names. Subsequent drawings will be held for the sale of each $1 million worth of tickets.
