1. Brand of SSD and RAM in the UM790 Pro

We purchase essential hardware from different brands based on the same technical specifications, including SSDs, Wi-Fi cards, RAM, HDDs, power supplies, etc. Due to the limited resources and brands of RAM and SSD, we choose Samsung, Kingston, Crucial, Adata, Phison, etc. as our RAM and SSD suppliers.

Each piece of hardware has passed a strict quality inspection and met the factory's standards before it is delivered to Minisforum. In addition, there is no difference in the warranty policies of these hardware suppliers.

The hardware brands may vary from batch to batch. Please rest assured that they all meet Minisforum's standards and are all covered by the warranty.

3. What's the maximum resolution? How many monitors can be connected at the same time?

Up to four monitors can be connected at the same time with a maximum resolution of 8K@60Hz.

4. What's the TDP of the UM790 Pro? Can it be manually adjusted?

The default TDP is 60W, and it can be manually adjusted to 65W.

5. Can I change the speed of the fan?

We are sorry but the fan speed cannot be manually adjusted.

6. Can I use the USB4 ports to power up the UM790 Pro?

The USB4 ports on the UM790 Pro support power delivery, and they can be used as a power supply port.

7. What's the spec of the RAM and the SSD of the UM790 Pro?

The RAM: DDR5-5600MHz, 1.1V, CL46

The SSD: M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe4.0 SSD (read speed 4800MB/s)

8. Can I use SSD with heat sink?

No. All versions of the UM790 come with Cold Wave 2.0 (provides an extra active thermal system for RAM and SSD). There is no space to install extra heat sink for the SSD.

9. Can I use double-sided SSD?

Yes, but we do not recommend purchasing double-sided SSD. If customers still prefer the double-sided SSD, please install it on the second M.2 slot so that this SSD and the Wi-Fi card will not overlap.

10. Does it support eGPU?

The UM790 Pro supports eGPU. Please contact the manufacturer of the eGPU docking station to learn more about the compatibility of the device.

11. Does it support overclocking?

We are sorry but right now the UM790 Pro does not support PBO. The engineering team is still evaluating the stability of PBO. It does not support EXPO, either.

12. About RAID0 and RAID1

Please refer to Wikipedia for more information about RAID0 and RAID1. We do not recommend that customers who are new to this function set it up by themselves without proper assistance. We will also post instructions on our social media channels later.

13. Does the UM790 Pro have pre-installed Windows?

Except for the barebones version, all versions come with Windows 11 pre-installed. The barebones version does not include RAM and SSD; therefore, it does not have pre-installed Windows 11.

14. How do I install Windows OS for the barebones version?
