1987 Press Photo Participants of Oxford Cambridge Boat Race in London

This is an original press photo. One of the best things about the famous Oxford Cambridge Boat Race on the Thames, London, every year, is the informal air of good cheer. Here race fans gather outside the University Boathouses in Putney just before the race, with pints from neighborhood pubs. One of the crewmen is getting his oar. The race ends at the "Doves", Hammersmith, 4 1/2 miles away, where everybody can have a drink. this year March 19. Boat racing. Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 07--1987.
