Sue Kemp Original Watercolor Painting Unframed. Nature, Tree Bark, 12.5" x 9.5"

Sue Kemp, sws, Tws, wFws

Award winning American Artist

Love of the outdoors, and the beauty therein, is what Sue Kemp imparts to her viewer through vivid watercolor images. Whether Sue is working with still life, animals or structural renderings,  there is almost always a flower, a plant, or a garden in some part of the painting.

"Finding time to enjoy nature is so important to our everyday lives. It has a natural calming effect and I really strive to bring that feeling into the homes or workplace of my collectors", says the artist.

Nature has drawn me into its’ fold since the beginning of my artistic expression, over 30 years ago.

I see paintings everywhere I look and strive to interpret in my own unique way, in watercolor.

I find myself looking beyond what we take for granted in everyday life, as I capture the richness of color and texture, the graceful lines, or strong patterns which others may not notice.

I look for harmony and rhythm and a sense of balance, which is important to all aspects of life. Rich pigments are applied to 100% cotton rag paper and are often allowed to mingle on the surface. Sometimes the paper is tilted to allow the paint to flow, creating subtle nuances of color. My paintings come from within, with all my life experiences adding to both their simplicity and complexity. Several images have been selected for publication. God has blessed me with the opportunity to share my vision with you, through my painting and teaching. I strive to impart this sense of self-expression to my students and encourage them to learn from me and become themselves.
