Historical context: the Spartakiada was a mass public physical education performance.
The tradition continued with the falconry gatherings, which were unwanted in communist Czechoslovakia, for which the large stadium in Strahov was built in 1926.
Just like the last Sokolsky Slet, the Spartakiads took place at the large Strahov Stadium in Prague.
The Spartakiads were gigantic propaganda events of the then communist regime on a really large scale, they were mandatory at several levels "school", "district", "nationwide" (in Strahov).
For example, in the second Spartakiad in 1960, more than 750,000 trainees took part directly in Strahov and were watched by more than 2,000,000 spectators.
