The Adaptec AEC-82885T is a SATA / SAS Expander for servers, which lets you increase the maximum number of connected drives. It’s an ideal addition to HBAs or RAID controllers that don’t offer enough ports for your needs.
The expander offers a total of 36 ports via 7 internal miniSAS SFF-8643 ports and 2 external miniSAS SFF-8644 ports. You can easily connect it to the mainboard via the PCIe x4 2.0 interface. This listing is for an OEM version, meaning it’s labeled by different brands (Lenovo, Intel, and more), but it’s technically identical to the original Adaptec component. A full and a low profile bracket for flexible installation are included.
