The item is a cracked late 1960s H&B GU bat, model S2, made for and used in the minors.  The bat, instead of placing a player name on the barrel, placed a team name, instead.   APPLETON FOXES.  In the late 60's they were a minor league affiliate  of the White Sox in Class A ball.The bat is cracked, although the only piece missing is about the size of an ant.  The barrel has some ball marks, and the knob and barrel end are both standard in nature.   At one time the crack was taped over (grip area up to  near the H&B centerbrand   The tape was long ago removed, with dark residue left from the tape that was there.  The crack has a half dozen or so nail marks, although the nails themselves were also removed many years ago.  The bat has no player ID, either on the knob, nor on the barrel or the barrel end.
