The night light activates automatically whenever ambient light levels drop below natural daylight.
This can be triggered by shadows, objects partially covering the unit, or socket location.
The torch does not use time-based or smart technology — it operates purely on light levels.
There is no manual override for this feature.
To minimise daytime activation, plug the torch into a location with consistent natural daylight.
If you require a model where the night light can be switched off completely, we recommend the Xtralite NiteSafe Maxi. It can be set to “Off” on the unit itself but will still activate automatically during a power cut.
