It was founded on April 12, 1929, and served as the primary travel agency for foreign tourists in the Soviet Union. Includes descriptions of parts of the Soviet union: Leningrad, Moscow, Volga river, Ukraine, The Caucasus, Crimea, Turkestan, Trans-Siberian Express; different activities such as opera and ballet, theatre, museums, hunting, mountain climbing, collective farms, celebrations of May Day and Nobember the 7th and others. Festures maps, drawings and photographs by Margaret Bourke-White (1904 – 1971), an American photographer and documentary photographer. She was arguably best known as the first foreign photographer permitted to take pictures of Soviet industry under the Soviets' first five-year plan.
