The starter is a mechanism that uses its power to crank the engine into action.

For Mercury/Mariner outboard motors, a new Arco Premium Outboard Starter is available. Epoxy powder is applied to each starter. All engines are tested at five different load levels and must meet or exceed OEM specifications. For increased wear resistance, motor shafts are induction case hardened.

Quality Assurance:

• Maximum corrosion protection is provided by an epoxy powder coating.
• Induction cases on motor shafts are toughened at bearing surfaces for increased wear resistance.

Precision Testing:

• All armatures have been tested to resist 50 times their standard operating voltage (12V)
• All motors performance tested at five different load levels
• Before being packed, all motors must meet or exceed OEM performance.
