Yamaha KX-670 & KX-690 Cassette Mechanism Belt Kit

Product Overview

Restore your vintage Yamaha tape deck to its original peak performance with this premium replacement belt kit manufactured by Perform. Engineered in Germany to exact OEM specifications, this kit is the perfect solution for servicing discontinued factory parts.

Over time, original rubber belts stretch, dry out, or turn to residue, leading to playback speed fluctuations (wow and flutter) or complete mechanical failure. This high-quality kit ensures your audio remains crisp, stable, and perfectly timed.

Why Choose Perform Belts?

• OEM Quality Solution: Original factory belts have been officially discontinued by Yamaha; this kit restores your equipment to peak standard.
• Engineered Excellence: Specialised components are developed with improved application standards to meet or exceed original factory specs.
• Superior Materials: Delivers precise matching elasticity, grip, and longevity for reliable long-term playback.

📦 Kit Contents

Each kit contains the exact internal drive belts required for a complete transport overhaul:

• 1 x Flat Section Capstan Belt (MPN: CX674310)
• 1 x Square Section Reel Belt (MPN: CX674320)

💡 Pro Installation Tip for Best Performance

Before installing your new belts, it is critical to thoroughly clean the entire belt path surface (pulleys and flywheels).

• Use isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and a cotton swab to remove old, invisible rubber residue.
• Failing to clean the path can contaminate the new rubber, leading to premature slippage and reduced lifespan.
