Final score was Notre Dame 41, Oregon 0 in South Bend, Indiana.  The Irish finished the 1976 season with a record of 9-3 including a season-ending victory over Penn State in the Gator Bowl to finish ranked #12 in the AP poll.  The Ducks finished 1976 with a record of 4-7 in Don Read's final season at Oregon.  The two teams would meet again in 1982 in Eugene as the Irish kicked a late field goal to tie the game at 13-13.
