Greco, in Italia dal 1956, in questa seconda collezione - presentata in occasione della sua mostra al Museo Nazionale di Arte Contemporanea di Atene - Kounellis torna alla cultura della sua patria, alla dialettica continua tra il mito del passato e la realta' del presente, tra il pensiero e la materia.
Protagoniste delle tazzine sono quattro eroine della tragedia greca: Antigone, Fedra, Persefone ed Elettra. Di eroico, pero', non hanno nulla: anzi, sono rappresentate come bambole rotte, fatte di teste e arti sconnessi. Sul piattino, colano come sangue macchie di inchiostro nero.

Greek, in Italy since 1956, in this second collection - presented on the occasion of his exhibition at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens - Kounellis returns to the culture of his homeland, to the continuous dialectic between the myth of the past and the reality of the present, between thought and matter. The protagonists of the cups are four heroines of Greek tragedy: Antigone, Phaedra, Persephone and Electra. However, they have nothing heroic about them: on the contrary, they are represented as broken dolls, made of disconnected heads and limbs. On the saucer, spots of black ink drip like blood.
