ORDER OF ST. ANNA
In the XVIII century. for the first time, an order foreign in origin was introduced into the system of awards of the Russian Empire, bearing the name
St. Anna. The motto of the order read: "THE LOVERS OF TRUTH, Piety and Loyalty." Back in 1743. the order was transferred to him
grandmaster to Russia, but remained Schleswig-Holstein. Under Catherine, who refused for her son from his western
European "patrimony", the order no longer had any state affiliation.
In 1797 he entered the number of Russian orders with three degrees.
