This stick is made out
of East Indian rosewood, one of the classic rosewoods that has been well loved
for hundreds of years. As will all woods that are in high demand they are over
harvested, East Indian rosewood is no exception. But demand also lead this species
to be grown in plantations, which is where the shaft came from several decades
ago. The handle however is old growth forest material that is even older. The
shaft is representative of what most East Indian rosewood looks like,
plantation or forest grown - mostly dark brown with a distinct purple hue. This
handle though is just superb with a deep magenta color. The top is suitable for
most hand sizes with a maximum diameter of 2 inches (52mm) with a rounded top
that fits in the palm nicely. It is completed with a handsome ferrule bottom
and low profile rubber tip, total length measures 40" and can not be
adjusted.
