INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:
? The shipping rates shown are for '1st Class International Package' with tracking.
? Ebay is also promoting their EIS International Shipping program on sellers pages. I do not use this program because it is more expensive, slower, not very transparent, and frustrating to the buyer, if something goes wrong. Do not select it, if ebay does show it as an option.
Thank you.

Original Narrative:

Chateau Chillon stands upon a rock on the edge of the east end of the Lake of Geneva, in a most picturesque situation, between Villeneuve and that Clarens to which the  pen of Rousseau has given lasting celebrity. The fortress was probably built in the time of the Roman domination. The strength of its position, and its value as a military post, caused it always to be diligently preserved and secured ; and its upper works have always ,been repaired or reconstructed as often as damaged or destroyed by the flames which have assailed them in the course of numerous wars. The lower apartments are chiefly hewn out of the living rock, and Strong enough to defy all destroyers. The castle now belongs to the republic of Waadt and has been transformed into an Invalid Hospital.  The views from its windows are enchanting, extending beyond the lake  to the lofty and noble mountains of Savoy and to the forests which cover the rocks of Meillerie.
