Portrait of: FREEMAN J. BUMSTEAD, M.D., an eminent American specialist, and recently Professor of Venereal Diseases in the College of Physicians and Surgeons, is descended from the old Massachusetts family of that name, the founder of which came over from England about the year 1650, and settled in Boston, where the family has since continued to reside, many of the members rising to distinction in professional and commercial life. Dr. Bumstead was born in the city of Boston, on the 21st of April, 1826.
